GUIDED PROJECT / 30 seconds
A fictional desk story
Tell a simple visual change with stills or optional generated shots and one recurring subject.
Prepare your sources
- Original lamp-wide.png, lamp-detail.png, lamp-desk.png and robot-reference.png.
- Optional practice-bed.wav and your own permitted sound effect.
- Optional generated shots using the robot reference; still images are sufficient.
Original recording script or story
No narration is required. The story is: a quiet desk feels unfinished, a small robot notices the lamp, and the desk becomes a welcoming place to work. Optional ending text: A little light changes the evening.
BEFORE
The assets are separate pictures with no order, sound relationship or reason to move between them.
AFTER
The opening establishes the space, the middle points attention towards the lamp, and the final hold makes the warmer result clear.
Target timeline map
| Time | Story job | Picture | Editing decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| 00:00–00:06 | Situation | Wide desk | Let the viewer understand the space. |
| 00:06–00:12 | Attention | Robot or reframed reference | Direct attention towards the lamp. |
| 00:12–00:18 | Change | Lamp detail | Use the light change as the turning point. |
| 00:18–00:26 | Result | Warm desk | Let the music open slightly without overpowering. |
| 00:26–00:30 | Ending | Held result and optional text | Give the final idea time to settle. |
These are target story allocations. Set the exact edit boundaries from your own recording.
Build the project
- Choose the still-image route or optional generation route before starting. The still route can use framing and a few simple cuts to tell the same change.
- Create the three-sentence story plan. Label any generated or illustrated version as fictional rather than presenting it as a filmed review.
- For generated shots, reuse the same robot reference and fixed features. Compare the results for face, colour, proportions and antenna continuity.
- Arrange the story with one clear turning point. Add a restrained move towards the lamp only if it helps direct attention.
- Use the music bed quietly and shape the sound around the turning point. A designed switch sound is optional; do not pretend it came from the source.
- Watch without text, then add only what is needed. Hold the final frame long enough for the viewer to understand the change.
Starting prompt
Make a 30-second fictional story using these original desk illustrations. Establish the quiet space, direct attention to the lamp and finish on a warmer desk. Use simple cuts, one purposeful move and minimal text. Do not generate new assets unless I ask.
Review your result
Pass when a viewer can describe the change and the same subject stays recognisable wherever it appears. Beautiful but unrelated shots do not meet the story goal.
Try another version
Make a calm and a more playful version by changing only the sound treatment and shot holds. Explain how those choices alter the feeling.
